Katrina Kaif and Rahul Gandhi have emerged as India’s most eligible single woman and man in a poll conducted by a wedding portal. While Gandhi polled 30 per cent votes, Katrina was preferred by 27.5 per cent respondents.

"It surely feels nice to top such a poll. I really hope I will not remain single forever," smiled Kaif, while reacting to the outcome of the poll by BharatMatrimony. com. She beat Vidya Balan (22.7 per cent votes), Priyanka Chopra (18.7 per cent) and Deepika Padukone (13.3 per cent) to wrest the top spot.

Gandhi, on his part, edged out cricket skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, his vice- captain Yuvraj Singh and Bollywood stars Shahid Kapur and John Abraham to top the year- end poll. While Dhoni polled 21.1 per cent votes, Shahid had 13.4 per cent votes. Interestingly, flavour of the season Ranbir Kapoor finished sixth.

No Ranbir on Deepika’s birthday

This time Deepika Padukone’s birthday won’t be the same like last year. The beautiful lass will be celebrating her birthday on January 5 without beau Ranbir Kapoor. Since Ranbir Kapoor had broken up with Deepika she is not willing to celebrate in any way.

On that special day, Deepika Padukone will be totally engrossed in work. The whole day she will shoot for ‘Kartik Calling Kartik’ with Farhan Akhtar and later she will launch.

A game for the film. Deepika might not celebrate her birthday but the cast and the crew has stored some surprises for her.

On his ex-girlfriend’s birthday, Ranbir Kapoor will be out of the town shooting in Singapore for ‘Anjana Anjani’ with Priyanka Chopra.

Ranbir Kapoor in a press conference declared that he is very much single. His declaration has left no room for patch-up between Ranbir and Deepika.

Actress Katrina Kaif has reportedly gone for a holiday to London to be with her family after her Appendix Operation in Mumbai.

According to a lot of scribes she was enjoying herself in New York with Ranbir Kapoor, but all these were shaken off.

As mere rumours by the actress as she confirmed with some insiders that actually it had kind of become.

A joke in her family in London where many were calling and asking about the actress’ whereabouts.

So, it is said that one of her sisters jokingly told some caller that yes Kats was indeed in New York.

This had got the gossip mills running. Now all that is gone and there is a report that after ‘Rajneeti’ kats has not got any offers in her kitty.

It is also being reported that she would have bagged the role opposite Akshay in ‘Tees Maar Khan’.

Ranbir accepts single status

Ranbir has managed to avoid answering queries in detail about his personal life, here’s one that could put a lot of things to rest and it comes from Karan Johar.

A girl at a presser asked Ranbir Kapoor if he was single… and Ranbir blushed and replied… "If you are saying… yes…" Ranbir could not state his status clearly, but then Karan Johar took on the job.

"Yes Ranbir is single," he says nonchalantly. But what exactly prompted Karan Johar to answer this query on his behalf.

While one does understand that it was Ranbir who has actually given the only hit that Karan Johar has had in 2009 in the form of Wake Up Sid, Karan also explains that he is Ranbir Kapoor’s uncle.

I have always taken risks – Priyanka

And the actress gives all the credit to her ability of taking risks. "I have always taken risks and done films which challenge me.

It’s easier to do films which will definitely do well," Priyanka, who has been declared the ‘Endorsement queen of 2008′, said.

"Even Fashion with three women, which got me my first Best Actress award, was risky. Somebody has to push the envelope.

Before Fashion when four-five of my films did not do well, the media was quick to write me off," she said.

The 27-year-old actress said she has understood herself as an actor. "I was 17 when I started.

Now, I have learnt what films are about," she said before flying off to US to shoot Anjana Anjani with Ranbir Kapoor.

Aishwarya Rai : Who is Aish’s ardent fan ?

Well, what can one say when an astounding beauty like Aishwarya Rai is shooting right under one’s nose? Nothing except admire her for her beauty of course. That’s not what our chocolate boy hero of bollywood did when he had seen her several years ago shooting for his dad’s home production.

The film was Aa Ab Laut Chale, this was Rishi Kapoor’s film and it starred Aishwarya with Akshay Khanna among other artists.

It so happened that Ranbir Kapoor would go to see the shooting everyday and he really became an ardent fan of her. So, he started to make paintings of her during the shooting itself. He hid himself and painted to avoid embarrassment. But, Aishwarya knew about it and she also did not want to embarrass the teenager so she said nothing to him.

Now, it so happened that during the premier of Paa when Ranbir had gone to see it, Aishwarya suddenly remembered the incident and told Abhishek about it. According to reports Ranbir was so embarrassed that he immediately left the venue.

Now what can one say? The sweet gesture by this sweet actor has to be appreciated; it is really an honour for anyone to have such ardent fans isn’t it?

Gauhar Khan wants to be Ranbir’s lover

Model and VJ Gauhar Khan, who made her Bollywood debut in the Ranbir Kapoor starrer Rocket Singh – Salesman of.

The Year was so impressed by her co-star that she now wants to play his love interest on-screen.

The debutante who was noticed for her turn as a crafty receptionist in the film, was all praise for Kapoor, who was recently crowned the ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ by People magazine.

"He is a calm and good person and a thorough professional. It would be great to be paired opposite him someday," Gauhar told PTI.

Though the lead opposite Ranbir is played by Shahzahn Padamsee, Gauhar says that she has most of her scenes with the heartthrob.

"Playing the lead does not mean being paired romantically opposite the hero but being an integral part of the film’s plot.

Our characters shared a close bond in the film," she said. The model-turned actress was participating in a dance reality show when she was called for auditions for the film.

Priyanka Chopra denies romantic hook up with Ranbir Kapoor
